Adventure Log 2

I awake not on harsh ground, but instead I feel soft grass beneath my paws. Blinking I realize I seem to have landed in a beautiful underground garden. There are so many beautiful flowers. Butterflies flutter among tulips, bees search for nectar, and even a caterpillar inches along a leaf. This place is full of life, some of which I can use for food.

As I make my way through the tall grass I see a dark object that stands out against the greenery. On closer inspection I discover it is a leather cloak with strange gold symbols along it's trim. I can almost feel the magic that comes off it. I place it around my shoulders, and I seem to blend into the mist around me. I quickly remove the cloak and place it in my pack for later. I'm sure I will find some clever use for it.

After the fall down here my body is a bit sore and I could do with a snack. So, I wonder around until I find a nice moss-covered log. I manage to sit quite comfortably, taking some time to really enjoy such a serene place. After a nice break I feel rejuvenated and ready to continue my adventure. Which sadly looks like heading towards a treacherous cliffside.

The ledge drops to a black abyss below, and I don't want to test my luck. So, I carefully maneuver along it's ledge. I look ahead to see how much further I have to go, and I believe I can see the way out not far ahead. I am filled with home, but in my excitement, I forget to watch my feet. I stumble, but manage to catch myself against the cliff-face. To my dismay a few moral mushrooms, a honey comb, and a dew bottle fall from my pack into the dark depths below. I don't recall hearing them hit the bottom.

I finally make it to the other side of the ledge, only to discover another trail. Luckily it looks like it leads up. I am ready to be back out in the fresh air above. I continue to walk the trail until the terrain starts to even out and I finally find the exit. What's at the end takes my breath away. The path has led me to a gorgeous grove, but not just any grove, no. This is the legendary Grove of Harmony from my treasured storybook!

I pull off my pack, and scrounge around inside. Pulling the book out and flipping through the worn pages. I find the illustration of the grove, and it is an exact match to what lay before me. This is what makes adventuring worth it, moments like this. Moments that could only ever happen in the pages of a storybook, or the dreams of an old adventurer reliving their glory days.
