Notes
15% - It’s a bit sad that Rosalina has had to harden hear heart, due to her sister's betrayal. However, I am proud of her for standing up for herself, her beliefs, and this she loves. I fell like I can relate to this in away due to past Childhood Trauma.
- 30%
- I kinda can't stand Farron right now. He went from cute shy librarian, to power hungry butthead
- Also poor Caspian taking the blame for raising Dayton from the grave with the green flame when it was really Farron.. stupid.
- 68%
- I can notttt with Caspian and Kel OMG. Also, the family bed. Ahhh. I just need kel and Rosalina to activate their mate bond please. Like, there is no reason to wait. Even though I know something bad will happen. I still need it lol. I really hope I don't have to wait till the next book. But I have a feeling next book is mainly going to be stuff hitting the fan.
Review
This was definitely one of my favorite books from the series. I feel like a lot happened with character development, and also with the main plot. Some questions I had from previous books, were answered in this on. I really loved the balance of loss, death, hardship, hope, and love. I feel like a lot of negative things happened in this one, to help the characters to grow and change. We saw a lot more who Rosalina wants to be as a leader, not just a human girl anymore, but the heir to the enchanted vale. It was definitely a coming into her own, not being like Sira, not being like her mother, but truly learning who she wants to be as the new Queen/Princess of the Vale. I will say I don't like the direction Farron is going in, I couldn't stand him in this book. That may have been intentional on the authors side though. I also felt a lot of pity for Caspian and Dayton this book. I really liked seeing a different side to Caspian, and falling in love with the side that Keldarion knew before they broke each other to pieces, and also the mending of that relationship. I am happy with how the book ended. I don't feel like it was a horrible cliff hanger. I think it ended at a part that made sense, and still has me wanting to read the next book. I'm curious to see what happens, and how some of the different conflicts are resolved, and questions are answered.
