Session 1 Recap
Ivy arrives in the secluded medieval town of Cozy Hollow after receiving a mysterious letter inviting her to take over her family’s abandoned farmhouse, offering her a chance to escape the debts and fast-paced life she left behind in Nordsville following her aunt’s death. Immediately struck by Cozy Hollow’s diverse and seemingly accepting community, the shy and socially awkward Ivy struggles with the prospect of approaching a stranger for help until she notices a tense exchange between a female Demon Kin and a male Tanuki. Using the opportunity to interrupt the confrontation, Ivy meets Bennie, who cautiously warms to her after hearing why she has come to town. Although Bennie doesn’t know where her farmhouse is, he recognizes the letter’s stationery as coming from Cozy Hollow’s post office, confirming that its mysterious sender is someone within the town. With her first real clue in hand, Ivy follows Bennie’s suggestion to visit Town Hall, leaving their slightly awkward but friendly first meeting behind as she continues her search for the farmhouse, the identity of her mysterious “friend,” and the new life that may be waiting for her in Cozy Hollow.

Arriving at the townhall, Ivy hesitates before going inside. The inside is warm, and the vines that were outside seems to have made their way indoors as well. Tangled leaves, vines, and plants are scattered along the walls and shelves. But she can’t help but to feel a sense of comfort.
There are green velvet and wood chairs for people to sit in, and a tray of hot tea on the coffee table. There is steam coming from the pot, as if it was just brewed. However, looking around she can’t seem to see anyone. Along one side of the wall is multiple bookshelves, more ivy weaves throughout the spines. Her fingers graze the shelves, when one of catches her attention she hears a cough cough come from behind her. Making her jump out of her skin.
Does Ivy see who coughed?

Turning around Ivy sees what looks to be a dwarf in a scholarly captains uniform. The dwarf is looking at Ivy with curiosity, one eyebrow lifted. Dropping her hands from the bookshelves, ”Sorry, I wasn’t trying to be nosey. I was hoping someone here would be able to help me.”
The Dwarf places a few books on a nearby table, before walking towards Ivy. ”Well, I don’t recognize you, so you’re definitely not from here. What brought you to Cozy Hollow?”
”I actually was invited here. I received a letter stating there was a farmhouse nearby that was left for me. However, I don’t know any family from here, and the sender didn’t leave their name.”
”Well isn’t that curious…May I see the letter?” The dwarf asks politely. Ivy nods, and hands the dwarf her letter.
Does the dwarf know who sent the letter?

Can they give me any insight as to who sent the letter?
- No
”Well I can’t say for sure who sent the letter, but I think I know what farmhouse they are talking about. It’s been abandoned for quite a long time, so it’s a bit strange to have it mentioned now.” The Dwarf seems to ponder for awhile.
”Maybe you’ll find out more when you visit the old place. I can take you there if you’d like, I’m good with directions.” They nod as if a decision has been made, and hand the letter back to Ivy.
”My name is Bingus, I’m the town ferryman. I usually help bring goods to the town, or take townies across the river.” Giving Ivy a small smile, ”It will be nice to have a new face around here.”
Ivy takes the letter and gives a warm smile. She is a bit frustrated that she still doesn’t know who sent her the letter, but is happy for any help she can receive. ”My name is Ivy, it’s nice to meet you Bingus. Any help you can offer would be wonderful.”
Bingus nods quietly, and starts walking towards the exit. Ivy quickly follows close behind.

On the way to the farmhouse Bingus and Ivy walk along an overgrown trail. Bingus warns about a nearby bear cave not far off trail, and to be weary when foraging nearby. They also pass a beautiful crystal blue lake, that has a gorgeous cascading waterfall. Apparently it is a popular place for townies to fish, swim, and go on picnics.
When they arrive at the farmhouse what are some descriptors?

As the path comes to an end, they arrive at a very broken down farmhouse surrounded by overgrown plants. Ivy knows there will be a lot of work to be done, and most likely she will have to camp outdoors until she can fix up the old farmhouse. The roof is sunken in, and one of the windows seems to be broken.
”Well it looks like you have some work cut out for you.” Bingus says, eying the broken down building, and poor state of the land. However, the distance from town wasn’t too bad of a walk, and she would have a bit of privacy so that was nice. Plus, she always liked camping as a kid.
”A little hard work never hurt anyone I suppose.” Trying to cheer herself up, and make the best of the situation. She had already sold her old home in the city, and made the long trek to Cozy Hollow. Which means there was no going back now. ”Plus, it gives me a chance to make it my own I guess,” shrugging her shoulders.
Bingus looks at her with a bit of shock, but maybe a hit of respect as well. ”Well you have plenty of resources at your disposal, and if you need any help we have plenty of that in town.”

”Well unfortunately, I have to get back to town. I’m still technically on duty. But, if you ever need anything I live off the path that leads towards the cliff face.”
Ivy nods, ”Thank you for taking the time to help. Maybe next time we meet I can offer you some tea.” Looking around, Preferably when I have fixed up the place a bit,” she says letting out a soft chuckle.
Bingus smiles and says their farewell before heading back down the trail. Now it’s just Ivy and her new acquired land, with untapped potential, and lots of weeds.
