Wolf Worm
Synopsis
Wolf Worm is a gothic horror novel set in the eerie woods of North Carolina, where something far more terrifying than folklore lurks beneath the surface. As strange disappearances, unsettling discoveries, and unnatural creatures begin to emerge, the story follows characters drawn into a chilling mystery tied to scientific experimentation, ancient fears, and the horrors hidden deep within the wilderness. Blending atmospheric Southern Gothic horror with psychological tension and body horror, the novel explores obsession, survival, and the terrifying consequences of pushing beyond natural boundaries.
Quotes
Both of them laughed and all three embarked on an intense discussion of the weather as it related to gardening, which was doubtless satisfying for the participants, but left me with a severe case of gossipus interruptus.
I can never quite shake the feeling that people are humoring me like a child when I give them something I’ve drawn.)
Some thoughts burrow into your mind as thoroughly as a wasp larva burrows into an unsuspecting caterpillar. The trick, which I am still learning, is how to live without being devoured by them.

Review
There is a reason why T. Kingfisher is one of my favorite horror/mystery authors. She just writes amazing books! This book was weird, interesting, gross at times, and I didn't expect the ending at all! She does such a brilliant job at keeping you on your toes. When you think you understand, or have solved the mystery, nope, plot twist!
If you like scientific illustrations, bugs, or even just weird science mixed with historical fiction, then this is a great book for you to read! I highly recommend most of her books if not all, but she does a great job of mixing scientific topics, fiction, and horror.
I also loved this book, because I am an artist, and I have worked with a lot of nature illustrations. So, it touched my artist heart 💖
